Ask any tradesperson, florist or consultant what they like least about the job, and "chasing invoices" comes up fast.
Most late payers aren't being difficult. The invoice turned up as a PDF with bank details at the bottom. To pay it, they had to open their banking app, add you as a new payee, copy the sort code, account number and reference, and then confirm with their bank. So they put it off until later, and later became three weeks.
Make paying the easy option
Every invoice you send from Worktree can include a payment link. Your customer clicks it, sees a page branded with your logo, and pays by card. That's two taps on their phone, rather than ten minutes in a banking app.
When they pay:
- the money goes straight to your own Stripe account, and never sits with Worktree on the way
- the invoice is marked paid automatically
- the payment is recorded in Finance against that invoice and customer
You don't need to check your bank and tick it off, or reconcile anything at month end.
Make the invoice quick to send
The other half of getting paid faster is sending the invoice sooner. In Worktree, the details are already there:
- The customer is entered once in Network and reused on every invoice.
- If the work was a project, raise the invoice from it, with the client and billing contact already filled in.
- Branding (your logo and footer) is set once and appears on every invoice and receipt.
Finish the job, open the project, create the invoice and send it. You can do that before you've left the customer's drive.
Receipts on request
Once an invoice is paid, generating a branded receipt is one click, and you can email it from the same screen.
What it doesn't do
Worktree isn't accounting software. It won't file your VAT return or keep a general ledger. What it does is make sure the invoices go out, the money comes in, and the records your accountant needs are complete and in one place.
